Check out who will be competing at this weekend's ADCC Canada Open as the new tournament circuit heads up North for the first time!
The ADCC Open circuit is coming to Canada for the first time, as action kicks off this Saturday in Ottawa, Ontario. Every ADCC Open seems to include established stars, upsetss and unknown grapplers storming their way to gold medals. Get ready for the action with a quick rundown of some of the biggest names entered into the tournament.
Men's +100kg - Dan Manasoiu
Big Dan continues his path of destruction through the ADCC Open circuit, where he has yet to lose a match. Every tournament he has gone to, he has won double gold - resulting in a #1 pound for pound ranking among male ADCC Open competitors. Will that double gold trend continue in Ottawa?
Men's -70kg - Deandre Corbe
Deandre Corbe is another grappler who has yet to lose in the ADCC Open circuit since it began in earnest. His most recent win in Arizona was over Dominic Mejia, and helped earn Deandre the #3 pound for pound spot in the rankings (as well as #1 at 70kg). Will the Standard Jiu-Jitsu athlete win again over tough competition, including Canadian Max Hanson?
Men's -76kg - Pierre-Olivier Leclerc
Pierre-Olivier Leclerc is another top ranked ADCC Open circuit athlete appearing this weekend as he looks for gold at -76kg. The 2022 IBJJF Pans No-Gi brown belt champion is one of Canada's top grapplers who has extensive experience training under John Danaher and now with B-Team.
Men's -70kg - Max Hanson
Max Hanson has been ascending quickly as one of Canada's top grappling prospects and now will enter into ADCC Open competition. The WNX veteran is currently ranked #15 overall at 155lbs in the FloGrappling no-gi rankings.
Men's -76kg - Kieran Kichuk
Kieran is back in action with the ADCC Open entry, where he seems to be set to face off with Pierre-Olivier Leclerc. The WNO veteran brings a fan friendly style and that match at -76kg could be one of the best of the entire tournament.
