Well, perhaps it's going to happen after all. 

On Aug. 11, Elon Musk, who earlier this month questioned if he would be medically able to fight against Facebook founder, Meta CEO and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete Mark Zuckerberg, presented more details.

The Tesla CEO and X, formerly Twitter, owner have been chirping about a fight for more than a month as the two compete for social media users.

This summer, Meta launched a competitor to X, Threads, which has turned the micro-blogging social media world upside down. Also in July, Musk rebranded the social media company he spent tens of billions on to "X."

This led to two of the wealthiest men on the planet beginning discussions on a physical fight, not just a legal one. This also comes just months after Zuckerberg competed in a jiu-jitsu tournament this past spring. Zuckerberg began jiu-jitsu training several years ago. 

Here's what we know about the Mark Zuckerberg-Elon Musk fight.

Zuckerberg vs. Musk In The Roman Colosseum?

Musk tweeted that the fight is going to take place in an "epic location" in Italy.  

The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC).

Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all.

I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.

Well, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, aside from Musk's Tweet-- eh-- X posts. 

Will Elon Musk Actually Fight Mark Zuckerberg?

Musk's Aug. 11 tweet certainly seems like it could happen. But earlier this month Musk said he may need surgery.

Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow.

May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.

Zuckerberg said he suggested Aug. 26 as a fight date. 

Elon Musk Training With John Danaher?

John Danaher, the founder of New Wave Jiu-Jitsu, which just had a successful night at Tezos WNO 19: Meregali vs. Kaynan Duarte, was spotted with Musk in July along with UFC legend Georges St-Pierre.

Danaher reportedly said Musk would have his hands full with Zuckerberg, telling Lex Fridman and St-Pierre that Zuckerberg's two years of training gives him the upperhand. 

"I’ve always found, by far and away, that the most important thing when two people get into a clash – skill level trumps everything else in terms of what’s going to determine the outcome," he said. "That’s not to say other things aren’t relevant, but skill is more relevant."

He added "So It would be an uphill battle."

What Type Of Fight Will Zuckerberg vs. Musk Be?

 Of course, since nothing has actually really be confirmed, it's only assumption that the fight would be of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu variety. Zuckerberg has been training in BJJ for years. It's unclear how long Musk has or even if Musk is willing to compete in the discipline.
