Nicholas Meregali and Kaynan Duarte will headline a Tezos WNO event as two of the best heavyweight grapplers in the world finally go head-to-head. Part of a co-main event, the match headlines WNO 19 on Aug. 10 in Austin, Texas at the Palmer Center. 

Duarte, the 2022 IBJJF World Champion in the Heavyweight division, faces Meregali, the 2022 IBJJF World Champion in the Absolute division. Last summer, Duarte issued a challenge to Meregali, who questioned whether there were any heavyweights who could beat him, at a WNO event.

That event has finally come. 

For Duarte, it's his second time headlining a WNO event. He faced Rodolfo Vieira in 2020 as the main event. For Meregali, it's the second time he's headlined a WNO event in 2023. He submitted Pedro Marinho in May in the main event, a gi match.

Tezos WNO 19 will stream live on FloGrappling and the FloSports app. The broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. EST.

Tezos WNO 19 Card Has Co-Main Event, Loaded Main Card

While the heavyweight clash at the end will be one of the most anticipated matches of the year, it's not the only main event on the card. 

Ffion Davies will defend her WNO flyweight championship for the first time against Jasmine Rocha. Davies is the No.1-ranked pound-for-pound no-gi female grappler and the No.1 125-pound grappler. 

Rocha is the No.4. 

The main card features a lightweight title bout between former WNO headliner Dante Leon and Ethan Crelinsten. Felipe Pena will take on Haisam Rida in a heavyweight bout as well. 

The undercard features a collection of young up-and-coming grapplers, including Achilles Rocha and Helena Crevar.
