Tough Roll Events held it's Winter Grand Prix on July 29th in Australia, featuring Art of Jiu-Jitsu star Tainan Dalpra, the successful black belt debut of Cole Abate, and a $10,000 grand prix won by Jonnatas Gracie. In the co-main event, Australian standout Nikki Lloyd-Griffiths defeated multiple-time world champion Ana Rodrigues by points, outlasting a fast start from Rodrigues to secure control over the course of the match.
With a theme of Australia vs the world, the event featured Brazilian, American, and European grapplers traveling to Gold Coast for a series of seven super-fights. Abate made his black belt debut just a few weeks after getting promoted at the Asian championships. He won his bout via submission, an armbar victory over ADCC Trials medalist David Stoilescu. The event also featured a $10k Grand Prix, which Atos black belt Jonnatas Gracie won with three straight victories, defeating Gracie Barra's Servio Tulio in the finals. The event is available for replay on the Tough Roll Events page.
