Mark Zuckerburg has not been quiet about his newfound love for combat sports, but did this act officially make him a part of the jiu-jitsu community?
Mark Zuckerberg has taken a crucial step in becoming a legitimate part of the jiu-jitsu community.
Unless you have been living inside a gym (which is actually pretty common amongst jiu-jitsu athletes), then you have probably heard about the Facebook founder’s newfound love for the sport of jiu-jitsu. Zuck has posted plenty of pictures and videos of himself training the gentle art and even getting some licks in with MMA training.
He has even gone as far as challenging rival tech mogul Elon Musk to a cage fight, which I am personally a big fan of.
I believe that we should be able to handle more of our everyday kerfuffles with organized cage fights.

As we have all walked down the path of integrating jiu-jitsu more and more into our personalities, we come across certain checkpoints — rights of passage. And today Zuck has reached a vital milestone to becoming a certified jiu-jitsu bro.
I am sure you are asking yourself, what could it be? Did he get promoted? Did he successfully land the move of the day on the free trial guy? Did he tap his professor?
Take a chill pill (they don’t drug test for those) and relax for a bit. To my knowledge Zuck did not perform any of these transformative acts, but he did do something more daring, more courageous, more raw and authentic.

It is often said that you do not truly start doing jiu-jitsu until you have posted a shirtless pic after training for the world to see. The Zuck Bus took a left turn off of Electric Avenue and straight into Flexation Station. Zuck was in good company; UFC Champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski joined in for the bro-down. But Elon was nowhere to be found...
Today marks one giant leap in Zuck’s jiu-jitsu journey and one more shirtless pic added to the endless sea of shirtless jiu-jitsu bros on the internet. We shall rejoice.
