Fight Pass Invitational To Feature Top Super Fights & $30K Absolute Bracket
UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 will feature a slate of great matches including Felipe Pena x Craig Jones, Nicholas Meregali x Cyborg Abreau, and more
UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, their running grappling event, is set to return June 29th in Las Vegas, NV when they host a slate of no-gi super-fights including Craig Jones vs. Felipe Pena, Nicholas Meregali vs. Cyborg Abreau, Glover Teixeira vs. Anthony Smith, and a one night 8-man open weight bracket with the winner getting $30,000.
The main event will be Craig Jones taking on Felipe Pena in the first meeting between the two. Craig hasn't competed since his silver medal finish at the 2022 ADCC World Championships last August, focusing his time on coaching MMA fighters like Alex Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya as well as helping build B-Team. Preguiça last competed for Who's Number One, defeating Nick Rodriguez in a decision. Both men are very fluid and inventive no-gi grapplers, so it'll be interesting to see how they match up on the mat.
The co-main event will see recently retired former UFC Champion Glover Teixeira face former MMA opponent Anthony Smith in grappling action. Nicholas Meregali will also take on 7-time IBJJF World No-Gi Champion Cyborg Abreau for the first time in no-gi, having defeated him twice in gi action. Meregali will be in action later this summer for Who's Number One against ADCC Champion Kaynan Duarte.
The 8-man absolute tournament will include some of the best in the sport, all trying to win the $30,000 grand prize for the winner. The entrants are scheduled to be;
- Nick Rodriguez
- Haisam Rida
- Vagner Rocha
- Fellipe Andrew
- Pedro Rocha
- Gabriel Arges
- Dan Manasoiu
- Fedor Nikolov
Also on the undercard, two-time NCAA wrestling champion Roman Bravo-Young will face off against UFC flyweight contender Alex Perez, as he continues to prepare for an eventual MMA debut. Young Team New Wave phenom Helena Crevar will also face off against Emily Fernandez, a black belt competitor under Bruno Bastos.
