The son of Rickson Gracie is set to return to the cage for the first time since 2019, when he recorded his first career loss.
A key representative of the Gracie family in MMA, Kron Gracie is set to return to the UFC after a years-long hiatus. With six fights in his UFC career, Kron returns to action next May, in the UFC 288 in Newark, after being away from the cages since 2019. The information of Gracie's return came this Tuesday, March 7th, after an official announcement from the UFC on social media.
ADCC 2013 champion and son of the legendary Rickson Gracie, the 34-year-old Kron is set to return to action following his first MMA loss in 2019. In that match, Gracie dropped a unanimous decision to veteran Cub Swanson.
Gracie had maintained an unbeaten in his first four MMA bouts, winning all of them submissions. In 2019, Gracie made his UFC debut, defeating Ultimate Fighter veteran Alex Caceres via rear naked choke. His loss to Swanson, his last fight in over three years, was in October 2019. Gracie is now 5-1 in his professional MMA career.
In his UFC return, Gracie is scheduled to face Charles Jourdain (13 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw) in a three-round featherweight bout. On the same card, UFC submission record-holder and former featherweight champion Charles Oliveira faces Gracie Barra black belt Beneil Dariush; and Olympic Wrestling champion Henry Cejudo also returns to the UFC to face bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling.
