Gilbert Burns Earns UFC Knock-Out Just Days Before ADCC
Gilbert Burns earns a massive KO at UFC Fight Night.
On the eve of the ADCC World Championships, UFC fighter and BJJ World Champion Gilbert Burns gambled big by stepping into the octagon at UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh. The Saturday night card was headlined by middleweight contenders Luke Rockhold and David Branch but it was Burns who stole the show.
Known for his ground prowess, Gilbert Burns took a different approach to this lightweight fight and it paid off ten fold. The majority of the fight played out on the feet and at the tail end of the second round his opponent Saggo pawed with a lazy left that Burns countered with a HUGE right hand the sent Saggo crashing to the canvas. No follow up was needed and with that Burns earned the first knock-out victory of his UFC career.
What's most impressive however is that after battling hurricane Irma in South Florida, Durinho will now make the trek to Finland for ADCC next weekend. There he will compete in the 77kg division along side Garry Tonon, Lucas Lepri and DJ Jackson. An impressive performance at the mega-tournament would cap off quite the eventful week for the Brazilian.
