Inside Art of Jiu-Jitsu: Training With The Mendes Bros Before IBJJF Worlds
Every team we've visited on our Road to Worlds trip has a different style of training. The 8am morning session at the Mendes brothers' Art of Jiu-Jitsu gym in Costa Mesa, California saw a mix of athletes and students ranging from white to black belt.
Every team we've visited on our Road to Worlds trip has a different style of training. The 8am morning session at the Mendes brothers' Art of Jiu-Jitsu gym in Costa Mesa, California saw a mix of athletes and students ranging from white to black belt.
The energy was high and the focus very much on Worlds, which begins on June 1. Professors Gui and Rafael Mendes ran the team through competition-specific drills.
The juvenile blue belt squad and the young purple belts were all training hard: athletes such as Tainan Dulpra, Jonatha Alves, Jhonathan Marques, Lucas and Matheus Rodrigues, Milli McCourt, Lucas Carvalho, Jessa Khan, Sophia and Isabella Flores, Janelle Tkaczuk and Jacob Kasha.
