Copa Podio held a random draw in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday night. 2016 Middleweight Grand Prix contestants Erberth Santos and Leandro Lo were there to pick the names for the two groups, of which each athlete is a member.
The Green Group was chosen by Leandro Lo and contains the following athletes:
Points are awarded for how athletes win their matches. 5 points are given for a submission victory, 3 for winning by points, 2 for a victory by advantages, and 1 point goes to each athlete for a draw.
After both groups are completed, the two athletes with the most points in each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The athlete with the most points from the yellow group will fight the athlete with the second most points from green, and vice versa.
The overall winner will have needed to fight six times to be crowned champion.
