The TRUE Fastest Submission in WNO History | Grappling Bulletin (Ep. 17)
The current record for the fastest submission in WNO history was when Nicky Ryan tapped out former wrestler Tony Ramos with a heel hook in only 21 seconds. It was Ramos’ first and only submission grappling match, and we’re not sure we can even include it in the true list of fastest WNO submissions due to the nature of the “grappler vs wrestler” match.
If that’s the case, then we saw the two fastest WNO submissions in back to back matches last week. Mikey Musumeci came out guns blazing and hit his first career heel hook versus the #1-ranked 135lb Lucas Pinheiro. Musumeci needed only 1 minute and 26 seconds to claim victory.
Craig Jones said “Hold my Only Fans rashguard” and beat Mikey by 38 seconds for the fastest submission of the evening, submitting Luiz Panza in only 48 seconds with the same move, an inside heel hook.
This was the fastest of Craig’s three WNO performances, which all ended via submission and all with the same technique. He tapped Ronaldo Junior in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in February, and he needed only 2 minutes and 24 seconds to tap Roberto Jimenez in October 2020.
That means three-time WNO vet Craig has spent a grand total of 7 minutes and 27 seconds on the WNO mat. Remarkable.
