Kennedy Maciel Wins Purple Belt Worlds

Watch a highlight of Alliance's Kennedy Maciel (aka Cobrinha Jr) become the 2016 purple belt light featherweight world champion. Maciel had an up and down year, winning gold at the Euros but then incredibly bombing out of the Pans in the first round.
Maciel had a very solid run at the Water Pyramid in Long Beach, taking gold by beating rival Jonata Gomes of Checkmat in the final 6-4. He also beat Team Lloyd Irvin's Malachi Edmond in the semi-final, Kyvann Gonzalez in the quarter final, and took wins over Steve Shipinkas, Philip Kim and Vincent Saenz in earlier rounds.
