NEW: Pound-For-Pound Black Belt Women's Rankings

For the first time ever we’re proud to present a pound-for-pound ranking for female black belts.

We waited until now to post rankings for women due to the lower number of participants and greater difficulty in collating results to create a ranking based on performance across various tournaments.

The upcoming IBJJF 2018 World Championships features more female black belts than we’ve ever seen registered, and the continued growth of the sport means it’s time to create this list.

Topping the ranking, of course, is the unstoppable Tayane Porfirio, the super heavyweight queen who won double gold at both Europeans and Brazilian Nationals. Though she missed Pans due to injury, her Double Grand Slam performance in 2017 makes her the undisputed no.1

To determine these rankings we considered results in all tournaments– IBJJF and UAEJJF– from this period last year through until now
