Bianca Basilio is one of the women who can steal the limelight at ADCC 2017 this weekend in Espoo, Finland.
The 21-year-old Almeida Jiu-Jitsu black belt, who qualified by winning the South American Trials, is in among the 60kg division, where she'll compete alongside the likes of Beatriz Mesquita, Michelle Nicolini, Rikako Yuasa, and 2015 defending champion Mackenzie Dern.
"I'm happy to be able to compete at this event," Basilio said. "I believe that every match there will be like a world final. I can't wait to be there, to do what do I love most, which is to fight.
"All the matches I had with Beatriz were head-to-head, and I almost got her," Basilio said. "She is an experienced competitor. When I was a blue belt, she was already a black belt, and I'm glad to be fighting with this generation. We fought four times, but I believe that God knows the right time for everything and I am training hard to achieve all my goals. I know there are a lot of tough girls, but me and my team are training hard to win."
Basilio has an explosive takedown game and dynamic guard passes, which she sees as perfect weapons in ADCC's no-gi matches.

I'm feeling well prepared and I'm eager to fight. After the IBJJF Worlds, my training has been all no-gi. That is, it's been three months of tough training for this event along with my teacher Caio Almeida, who changed our competition training to no-gi for the whole time.Basilio recently starred in four electrifying matches with star black belt Beatriz Mesquita -- all in the gi -- and the two grapplers have a chance at another possible encounter at ADCC 2017.

No-gi is a very different sport than jiu-jitsu in some ways. I've really improved my pressure and my submissions, from both on top and on bottom. I'm going to kick some ass! I will give my best in every positions, in attack and defense. I'm ready!
