Live by the leglock, die by the leglock. Fifteen-year-old Nicky Ryan, younger brother to Gordon and a member of the infamous Danaher Death Squad, tapped out another high-profile leglock specialist this weekend with -- you guess it -- a heelhook.
Ryan took on 10th Planet jiu-jitsu brown belt Marvin Castelle in a no-gi superfight at Global Grappling League in New York state.
The match last less than four minutes, and you can watch the full video here:
Nicky Ryan, who turns 16 in July, is often described by his older brother, Gordon, as the best athlete on the Danaher Death Squad.
"Nicky is ruthless," Gordon posted to Facebook. "He's also progressing at a rate faster than anyone on the team. And by 20 will be better than anyone on the DDS."
Castelle is an instructor at Eddie Bravo's gym in Los Angeles, and he's also the star of one of the most widely seen leglock videos of all time, with well over 10 million views.
Marvin shot to fame as a result of the video, in which he hit an Imanari roll into a reverse heelhook to submit his opponent in a submission-only no-gi match on Fight To Win.
